Will Comey Admit He Committed A Felony?

Leftists are chomping at the bit today, hoping that disgraced ex-FBI director James Comey will drop a bombshell and say that Trump tried to get him to do something unlawful. The problem with this, for Comey, is that he has to admit to committing a felony in order to appease the left.

Even if he had never testified before Congress (which he did) and, while under oath stated that nobody (which includes Trump) ever asked him to do something unlawful (which he did), he would still be guilty of a felony. This would the case regardless of whether or not Trump, or anyone working for Trump, had asked him to perform some type of nefarious act or omission.

According to the Cornell School of Law, Comey would be guilty of misprision of felony under 18 U.S. Code § 4, which states:

Whoever, having knowledge of the actual commission of a felony cognizable by a court of the United States, conceals and does not as soon as possible make known the same to some judge or other person in civil or military authority under the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

(June 25, 1948, ch. 645, 62 Stat. 684; Pub. L. 103–322, title XXXIII, § 330016(1)(G), Sept. 13, 1994, 108 Stat. 2147.)

In other words, by simply not coming forward regarding Trump’s crime(s), Comey violated the statute and committed a felony.

Also, since we cannot overlook the fact that he did testify before Congress, he would also be guilty of violating both 18 U.S. Code § 1621 and 18 U.S. Code § 1001.

Section 1621 says that anyone who was under oath and who “willfully subscribes as true any material matter which he does not believe to be true” is guilty of perjury. They would also face up to 5 years in jail and/or a fine. Section 1001 is a bit more general and broader and does not require the person to be under oath.

But, perhaps, like he did when he unlawfully bypassed the Attorney General and single-handedly excused Hillary Clinton for 30,000+ counts of felony acts, Comey might re-interpret all of these laws as well.

Regardless of the outcome, we can be sure of one thing: Democrats are in such a tiff over losing their “unlosable” election to an “unelectable” candidate  they can’t bring themselves to admit America is tired of their BS.  The same BS this Comey testimony is furthering.
