The Ohio state overdose death rate for prescription drugs was about 15 per 100,000 residents in 2011. The abortion doctor David Burkons, who is supposed to be “saving” women’s lives, was actually endangering them. He went so far as to sign blank prescriptions for his patients.
Today, the State Medical Board of Ohio voted to suspend the license of Northeast Ohio abortionist David Burkons for improperly prescribing medications to patients between 2011 and 2014. The board suspended his license for six months after an investigation revealed Burkons to have been signing blank prescriptions, leaving them with his staff, and failing to record the prescriptions in patient documents. The blank prescriptions would end up being used to prescribe controlled substances such as Vicodin, Valium and Xanax.
“After years of playing fast and loose with the health and safety of Ohio’s women and children, David Burkons is finally facing some sense of justice,” said Devin Scribner, executive director of Ohio Right to Life. “For at least three years, this abortionist was a part of the prescription drug crisis that has ravaged this state. It is disturbing, although not surprising, that his disregard for human life would extend even to the women he professes to serve.”
Funny how this abortionist claims to serve women and take care of their heath needs, even though he kills their children. Not only does he sign blank prescriptions, but how does he know the staff would fill it out appropriately? Obviously he doesn’t care. But luckily, the Federal law prohibits physicians from signing prescriptions in advance.
“The suspension of this license is sure to rock Ohio’s abortion industry for at least the next six months,” said Scribner. “With four of the state’s abortion facilities relying on Burkons’s horrific abortion practice, this decision will undoubtedly protect countless lives in Northeast Ohio and beyond. From botching abortions to quietly reopening a shuttered abortion mill under a new name, this abortionist has slid under the regulatory radar of the state for years without discipline. Although unrelated to his fatal abortion practice, it is refreshing to see Burkons facing consequences for gambling with the health and safety of his patients.”
Too bad he only got his license suspended for sixth months. Other doctors have had their license completely taken away and served time, plus paid heavy fines. All in all, the good news is this man who takes the lives of innocent children, will not be operating for the next six months at the very least.
