First Grader In Trouble for Calling Transgender Student Wrong Pronoun

Children are innocent. They see what they see and say what is on their minds. How sad that children who are unaware of transgendered people, or what that even means, are being punished for simply calling another child by the wrong pronoun. Shocking, it’s happening in a California school as well.

At an elite charter school in California, a first grader was sent to the principal’s office after innocently calling a transgender student by their actual gender.

“There was a little girl who had been in class with the little boy all last year,” said Karen England, the executive director of Capitol Resource Institute which is speaking on behalf of the girl’s family. “They’re in different classes now, but she saw him on the playground yesterday and called him by his name. The little girl was told ‘you can’t do that, his name is this name,’ and ‘you need to call him a “her.”’ Then she was called to the principal’s office.”

The girl’s family is “outraged,” England said, and has already met with the leaders at Rocklin Academy. Their daughter was not punished, but the incident was investigated for potential bullying. The mother said the girl came home crying, telling her she got in trouble at school.

“I stressed over and over with the principal that I am all for protecting the rights of [the transgender child], but my children have rights as well,” the mother wrote. “It makes me sad that my daughter felt like she was punished for trying to be kind to the kid.”

This isn’t the first controversy to surround the school. At the end of last year, a kindergarten teacher read her class books on transgenderism just before the male student was reintroduced as a girl, The Washington Times said. At the time, parents weren’t notified before the stories were read to the class.

How far is this going to go? The prior year that other child was a boy, this year that same child is a girl. How confusing is that for the other children? Should children be punished for calling them the gender to which they were born? With Christian parents who teach their children that God made us male or female, this goes against God’s perfect creation because God doesn’t make mistakes. That child who doesn’t agree with a trans child’s decision to be the opposite sex should not be punished or labeled as using hate speech. Parents need to take a stand, if not the schools will continue to indoctrinate the students for the LGBT agenda.
