Martin O’Malley: Perhaps another run for president in 2020

Who’s Martin O’Malley? Oh yeah, he was that other person in the Democratic race. You remember, the one against Hillary and Bernie? He was so popular that he earned less then one percent in the Iowa’s first in the Nation caucus, which happened right after that he dropped out. But, that was way back in 2016. 2020 might be totally different.

Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley didn’t shy away from rumors that he might attempt another run for the presidency in 2020.

Asked about it on Saturday during an interview on MSNBC, O’Malley said, “Sure, I just might.”

O’Malley ran a longshot campaign in 2016 for the Democratic nomination. He dropped out eight days before the New Hampshire’s second-in-the-nation primary after a dismal showing in the Iowa caucuses against Hillary Clinton and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
He did so poorly in the 2016 race, you would think that Democrats would actually love him for his progressive positions that he holds. Especially positions he’s held on climate change, immigration reform, or healthcare. He also expanded same sex marriage rights, passed the State Dream Act, raised taxes on the rich, passed a gas tax hike, and issued a bill legalizing marijuana. He also signed some of the strictest gun laws in the country. You would think he was a liberal’s dream. Since 2020 is just around the corner, who knows what can happen. We are living in the days of a Donald Trump Presidency.
