First It’s Guns Then Knives, Now Banning Cars In London

Far left radical activist London Mayor Sadiq Khan said that he wants to ban cars from certain areas of Parliament Square in response to an attack that a car collided with a number of cyclists and pedestrians before crashing into barriers that line the Houses of Parliament.

Now banning the tool that a criminal uses to murder people will not stop the killing. If a person is determined to take someone else’s life they will find a way. Sadiq Khan has not figured that out yet.

Earlier this year when London surged past New York in the murder rate, when the British capital dealt with a rise in knife attacks. Mayor Sadiq Khan decided that knives should be baned.

In Britain, it is currently illegal to carry a knife longer than three inches in public ‘without good reason’ and illegally carrying a knife can be punished with up to four years in prison and an ‘unlimited fine.’ Self-defense is not listed among the examples of ‘good reasons to carry a knife.’

Now they banned knives they banned guns and now want to ban cars. This nation is famous for its strict gun control and confiscation of firearms, yet we see violent crime increasing. Clearly, the availability of guns, knives and cars are not the primary driver of crime. Prohibiting people from carrying guns or knives did not stop the car attack. And banning cars, even if it’s only a partial ban in certain parts of London, won’t do the trick either. People who really want to commit crimes will find a way. And, conveniently, Islamist Khan doesn’t mention that these murder-by-car acts are happening by his fellow Islamists.

These bans will never work as they are intended because criminals don’t follow the laws. The best chance to keep citizens safe, and most common sense thing to do, is to allow them to arm themselves and give them a chance to fight back.  But common sense is the antithesis of the left.
