Ilhan Omar: Minnesota’s Terrible Choice

Ilhan Omar won. Minnesota what have you done?

Reading from the MSM you would think she is an amazing talented woman. They covered her as a “history-making” symbol: The first Muslim woman elected to Congress, and a Somali refugee. Yada yada yada! They should of covered who she is though.

She is an enemy of our Allie Israel:

She told ABC news she is not anti-Semitic, and accused her critics of bigotry. She did not apologize for that tweet either. Quite fitting that she is replacing Keith Ellison, the devoted follower of the anti-Semitic minister Louis Farrakhan.

Minnesota Campaign Finance Board opened an investigation into her campaign committee. They have recently discovered Omar used campaign resources for personal travel expenses.

According to the Minnesota Campaign Finance Board’s current Candidate Handbook regarding non-campaign expenditures: “Trips that are for general fact-finding and relationship building, such as meeting with the state’s congressional delegation in Washington, D.C., are not reasonable costs of serving in office that may be paid for with campaign committee funds.”

Further, Minnesota Statutes 211B.12 Subd. 7 states: “Money collected for political purposes and assets of a political committee or political fund may not be converted to personal use.”

Rep. Omar personally benefitted from the payment of certain travel costs by her principal campaign committee, and by doing so violated state law.

This isn’t the first time she has been accused of financial improprieties. She accepted speaking fees from Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, which is a violation of State House rules. She eventually reimbursed the three campuses in question. She is still under investigation for being accused of using campaign funds for legal costs associated with her marriage dissolution. The funds might be small but the funds are legally restricted, not for her to use personally. Which shows her carelessness and greed with dealing with finances.

She is facing allegations that she married her bother in 2009. The motivation for the marriage remains unclear. However, the totality of the evidence points to possible immigration fraud and student loan fraud.

Democratic operative Ben Goldfarb spoke to the Star Tribune on Omar’s behalf:

“Allegations that she married her brother and is legally married to two people are categorically ridiculous and false.” Omar’s campaign explained that she had never legally married Ahmed Hirsi and flatly denied that Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, her legal husband, is her brother. Omar issued a statement that went back to the royal flush of bigotry accusations and decried the “Trump-style misogyny, racism, anti-immigration rhetoric and Islamophobic division” allegedly motivating questions about her marital status.

During her campaign, like a typical leftist, she focused on single-payer healthcare, gun control and immigration, and plans on embracing refugees. Also debt forgiveness for student loans, abolishment of ICE, protection of DACA, and vows to fight against President Trump for his proposed travel ban. To top it off she has a consistent pro-choice voting record, has worked to eliminate the Hyde Amendment, and to provide abortion coverage for all.

Minnesota this is what you got. What the heck where you thinking?
